Wix is a flash website builder. This special software makes
it perfect for adding animation to your website. Wix's website builder includes
an impressive array of artistic-looking templates. Once you select a template, you're then free to edit the template's image,
text and color until you have your website looking just right. Wix.com does a
great job of guiding you through this process, and it's all plain sailing once
you stick to your template's basic structure. You can even do much of your
image processing from within Wix, almost as if it had an integrated Photoshop
feature.
There
are four premium upgrade plans available: My Domain, Combo, Unlimited, and
E-Commerce. My Domain is $4.95 per month and allows you to use your own domain,
take advantage of Google analytics, and premium support. Combo is $9.90 per
month and has all the benefits from above as well as ads removed and removal of
the Wix logo. Unlimited is $14.90 per month and gives you everything mentioned
as well an unlimited bandwidth. E-Commerce is $15.90 per month and you will
have a shopping cart included.
Wix
has a committed support team. They quickly resolved the few queries we couldn't
find answers to on the wiki.
However, Wix is not probably a best solution if your
priority is to attract as many visitors as possible to your website. Search
engines are notorious for not liking Flash-based websites.
